Explanation
These are distended, dilated, sacculated veins which have become tortuous and twisted due to pressure, lack of tissue support, and weakness of vein walls.
Considerations
There is usually some degree of incompetence of the valves of the veins and an inability of the venous pump, i.e., contraction of skeletal muscles of the leg to pump blood up through the veins maintaining normal venous pressure.
Treatment
Varicose veins may be produced by lack of any nutrient that allows blood to clot too rapidly or allows faulty elimination. Adequate diet of natural foods is recommended. Supplemental therapy with concentrated natural nutrients, vitamins, and minerals is most important.
