Explanation
This is an autoimmune disease where neurons are demyelinated; the myelin sheath is being attacked by the immune system. This disease is slowly progressive with symptoms of muscular weakness, lack of coordination, spasms of the arm, leg and eye muscles, and disturbances of bladder control. The etiology is unknown.
Considerations
Autopsies reveal deficiencies in tissue levels of lecithin, especially in the myelin sheaths, with saturated fatty acids predominating over unsaturated fatty acids. Coincidentally the disease is rare in warm countries and more predominant in cold areas where the diet is especially high in saturated fats.
Treatment
All nutrients with high mineral and vitamin content must be emphasized in a totally natural, balanced diet program. Intense therapy with concentrated natural food elements must be maintained and continued indefinitely. It is important to check for mineral toxicity and food allergies.
