Explanation
This is a form of drug addiction resulting in progressive degeneration of tissue throughout the entire body. The central nervous system is the first to be affected. The liver is the most seriously affected organ with eventual irreversible damage occurring in the form of cirrhosis. The gastro-intestinal tract, the heart, blood vessels, kidneys, pancreas and adrenals also undergo degenerative changes.
Considerations
A state of malnutrition always exists in the alcoholic. A deficiency in Vitamin B-complex is noted. There is also a correlation between alcoholism and hypoglycemia.
Treatment
We consider alcoholism to be a nutritional deficiency disease and treatment is aimed at correcting these deficiencies through adequate diet and use of natural, concentrated food supplements in large amounts, often in massive doses of megavitamin therapy.
