Explanation
This is a diffuse inflammatory disease of the kidney involving degenerative changes in the glomeruli leading to proliferation, fibrosis and hyalinization.
Considerations
Millions of tiny tubules in each kidney daily filter some 4,000 quarts of blood daily relieving the body of toxic waste such as the products of metabolism, worn out and dead cellular material. These also function in maintaining normal acid-base balance of the body. The ability of these highly vascular tubules to properly function is totally dependent upon rich blood supply containing all the essential nutrients, and an unobstructed passage of this blood supply through the kidney.
