Considerations
This is characterized by increased LDL (bad cholesterol) plasma levels and accumulation of LDL over pressure points, joints and especially in blood vessels resulting in the build-up of plaques, which reduces the lumen of the vessels and reduces blood flow.
Treatment
The only truly satisfactory course of treatment in these cases is purely nutritional. The body needs cholesterol, but not in massive amounts. If all foods containing cholesterol were eliminated, the liver would still produce cholesterol, as one cannot live without it in normal amounts. Hydrogenated fats and oils, saturated animal fats, and sugar, must be avoided to favorably affect the problem in every case.
