Explanation
This is a parasitic infestation of the body, especially the intestinal tract, by a variety of worms that produce a multitude of symptoms.
Considerations
The most common worms to be dealt with are pinworms, roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms. They produce irritation, inflammation and destruction of the epithelial lining of the intestinal tract resulting in poor intestinal absorption of essential nutrients, pain, diarrhea, anemia, and loss of appetite and weight.
Treatment
Diets deficient in B-complex vitamins, biotin, folic acid, Vitamins B-1, B-2 and A, and adequate protein allow for parasitic invasion. It is therefore mandatory that diet be adequate in all respects. The ingestion of garlic has been helpful.
